Emergency pull-wire and belt alignment switches for extreme ambient conditions - product range now completed

At the Solids 2023, the steute business unit "Extreme" will be presenting an expansion - or rather doubling - of its ZS 92S/SR series. To date, these extremely robust and versatile emergency pull-wire and belt alignment switches have been "packaged" in a die-cast aluminium enclosure ideally suited to unfavourable ambient conditions thanks to multiple coatings (passivation, base coat, powder coat). Users can now alternatively opt for an enclosure which is made out of top-quality duroplastic and is anti-corrosive beyond all reasonable doubt. All screws and connecting elements are stainless steel. The entire series features a high degree of flexibility. The ZS 92 S is available with a variety of pre-installed settings for the release lever and the unlocking mechanism. This means that the switch can be installed in nearly every conceivable operating position, including the rear side. Installation dimensions are compatible with other readily available emergency pull-wire and belt alignment switches, making it easy to retrofit existing (conveyor) plants with the new switches or to exchange them later. In the ZS 92 SR belt alignment switch, the switching points for advance warning and switch off are easily adjustable in 5° steps, considerably increasing its practicality and versatility. Users also benefit from significantly reduced release forces and paths when actuating the emergency stop function. They make the safety switch easier to operate and also mean that all the relevant international standards (e.g. regarding emergency stop devices with mechanical latching function) are reliably met. The latest additions to the ZS 92 series with their robust plastic enclosures – whether as emergency pull-wire or belt alignment switches – are thus ideally suited to bulk conveying and handling applications.

    2. Emergency stop module UF 6925

      Emergency stop module UF 6925

Compact safety just 17.5 mm wide The only 17.5 mm wide emergency stop module UF 6925 of the SAFEMASTER series monitors safety functions such as emergency stop or safety door safely and simply in nearly every application and is characterised by maximum safety for man and machine with minimum space requirement. The UF 6925 enables time-saving wiring by integrated front side push-in cage clamp terminals and also makes rapid assembly possible by simple snapping on to the DIN rail. Being only 17.5 mm wide, the space required in control cabinets is reduced by more than 20 %, as opposed to standard safety modules. Due to its 2-channel structure the device is designed for highest safety requirements up to cat. 4 / PL e or SIL 3 and is also suitable for use in furnace installations according to EN 50156-1 due to the redundant structure. Setting is carried out via switches on the back of the device and allows the selection of type of start and cross fault detection. The safety module is predestined thanks to its wide voltage range of DC 8 ... 36 V for a great variety of applications in machine and plant engineering and in mobile applications.

    3. Emergency-Stop Devices

      Emergency-Stop Devices

Georg Schlegel GmbH & Co. KG is offering a comprehensive range of emergency-stop devices allowing to fulfil the requirements of typical applications of different branches - ranging from the machine building industry, plant engineering up to the lift, vehicle, shipbuilding and crane building industry. Customer can choose from a variety of traditional versions. The illuminated variants offer a plus in safety compared to standard emergency-stops, as they signal the active/inactive status of the emergency-stop by means of a clear colouring. Also here, Schlegel offers different products and has developed an emergency-stop with diagnostic unit which constantly monitors the status of the illumination. Self-monitoring emergency-stop devices The production of products and goods is mostly done by complex and extensive production facilities. Nowadays, those facilities are no longer operated as complete systems, they are divided in individual areas. This sectioning has the advantage that the facilities can be adapted to production changes much quicker and that they are more failure-proof in whole. The modular structure offers also other advantages. Among others individual parts can be safeguarded by a separate emergency-stop device. In case of a failure in the production or in case of danger for a person, the relating part of the installation is put into a safe state by operating its individual emergency-stop, the rest of the system keeps on running. When using emergency-stop devices it always has to be considered that the emergency-stop function is a complementary protective measure and may not be used as substitute for other protective measures or safety functions!

    4. Emergency-stops with pull release FRPVK

      Emergency-stops with pull release FRPVK

Georg Schlegel GmbH & Co. KG expands its emergency-stop program for the SHORTRON series with pull to release variants. The new variants are available without contact blocks for base-plate mounting and with contact blocks for faston terminals or PCB-mounted terminals. The versions with faston terminals are available with 1 NC, 2 NC, 2 NC + 1 NO and as illuminated type with 2 NC contacts. For the emergency-stops for PCB-mounting there are 2 NC and 2 NC + 1 NO contacts available. The mechanical life of the emergency-stops is approximately 30.000 switching cycles with a maximum pulling force of 160 N. Their protection class is IP65/IP67 and the maximum operation temperature is -25° C - 70° C. The NC contacts are with positive opening according to EN60947-5-1. The emergency-stops are designed for a mounting diameter of 22.3 mm and have a mounting depth of 9.2 mm to 18.1 mm, depending on their version.

    7. encoTRive with EtherCAT NC

      encoTRive with EtherCAT NC

The encoTRive product family from TR Electronic stands for intelligent, decentralized drive solutions that combine motor, power electronics, control, and position detection in a compact housing. With supply voltages from 24 to 48 V and support for modern fieldbus systems such as EtherCAT, Profinet, Profibus, and CANopen, control and positioning tasks can be carried out efficiently and in a space-saving manner—without any control cabinet load or EMC-critical motor cables. Compact, powerful, and versatile The compact drive concept offers numerous advantages: _ Absolute position available at all times – thanks to battery-free multiturn gearing, no reference runs are necessary. _ Simple cabling and touchable components – thanks to low voltage and integrated electronics. _ Flexible motor and gear variants – from brush-type to electronically commutated, with or without holding brake. _ Safety functions such as STO and SS1 – optionally integrated for increased machine safety. _ Uniform control across all variants – regardless of the selected fieldbus. New perspectives with EtherCAT NC With the latest expansion for EtherCAT NC functions, TR Electronic is taking a decisive step forward: encoTRive drives can now be integrated into the EtherCAT world in a manufacturer-neutral manner. The drive only controls the speed, while position control is handled entirely by EtherCAT and the controller. This architecture enables very fast and convenient integration into the control environment. Actuator remains actuator – with more convenience With this innovation, TR Electronic once again underlines its claim to combine technological innovation with practical application – for greater efficiency, flexibility, and future-proofing in automation.
