
Radar sensors for precise measurements
The compact radar sensors impress with their versatility in demanding environments and tight installation situations. With different aperture angles - ±3° (6°), ±7.5° (15°) or a particularly narrow ±1.5° (3°) - they offer maximum focussing for precise positioning tasks and reliable object detection. Thanks to measuring rates of up to 500 Hz, a measuring range of 0.3 m to 40 m and a measuring accuracy of up to ±0.1 mm, they enable a wide range of applications with state-of-the-art radar technology. Thanks to their intuitive operation, the sensors are easy to integrate into existing control concepts. Supported by a PROFINET interface, integrated web server and user-friendly tools, they create transparency in operation and simplify implementation. Whether as a stand-alone solution or in system solutions - the radar sensors combine precision, speed and robustness for the highest requirements.

Radio controlled safety system UH 6900 - In group mode
The radio controlled safety system UH 6900 of the SAFEMASTER W series, consisting of one group controller and up to 255 group receivers for the safety-related, wireless transmission of emergency stop and control functions, offers more flexibility in safeguarding hazardous areas. High availability, long range and safety are achieved by implementing the latest radio technologies. With the group controller, several receivers can be safely switched off via a unidirectional, safetyrelated radio link. Furthermore, the controller can exchange message, control and status information with a receiving device. The devices enable the connection of up to 3 two-channel safety sensors (emergency stop, LC, safety door, two-hand etc.) and offer simple configuration as well as extensive evaluation and diagnostic options. The main areas of application include mobile applications such as fully automated floor conveyors and driverless transport systems. A simple and cost-effective retrofitting of existing safety systems can also be realized without wiring.

Radio controlled safety system UH 6900 - In pair mode
The safety approved, bidirectional radio controlled safety system UH 6900 from the SAFEMASTER W series, is for the transmission of safety inputs such as E-stop and conventional control functions and offers great flexibility for the protection of hazardous areas. By implementing the latest radio controlled technologies, a high degree of availability, a wide range, and safety is achieved. Two safety zones can easily be connected wirelessly over a considerable distance. The main application areas include applications covering large areas and mobile applications such as fully automated conveyor systems and driverless transport systems. Simple and inexpensive retrofitting of existing safety systems can also be achieved wirelessly with this system. The device allows connection of up to 3 two-channel safety transmitters (E-stop, LC, safety gate, two-hand, etc.), simple configuration, and comprehensive sampling and diagnostic options. With the radio controlled safety system, you will have an automated safety solution that can be integrated wirelessly into various applications. The option to select between three operating modes (complete protected mode, cross mode, protected mode with connectable ratio control) allows the device to be quickly and reliably adapted to your individual application.

rc_reason ItemPickAI – Software for AI-Based Pick-and-Place
AI-Based Grasping and Oriented Placement of 'Unseen' Objects The rc_reason ItemPickAI software enables the efficient separation and oriented placement of so-called ‘unseen’ objects – i.e. objects that the system has not explicitly learned by teaching models or seen in training data beforehand. This AI-based solution for robotic pick-and-place applications with suction grippers calculates aligned grasp poses for a suction gripper on unknown, deformable objects of a certain category. These objects can come in chaotic boxes or load carriers, and both mixed and unmixed configurations are possible. During commissioning, only the object category (e.g. ‘bag’) and the size of the gripper’s suction cup need to be selected. These parameters can be flexibly adapted to new conditions at any time. This means that pick-and-place applications such as picking and (de)palletizing can be implemented efficiently within a very short time frame, even without expert knowledge in the field of AI or image processing. The rc_reason ItemPickAI module runs offboard with any 3D sensor via Roboception’s rc_cube and is configured and read out via the standard interface. ItemPickAI calculates a configurable number of grasp poses for a suction device on all identified objects within a predefined workspace.

rc_reason SilhouetteMatch – Detection Software for Machine Tending etc. - with Flat Objects
Fast and Easy Detection of Flat Objects with User-Generated Templates The rc_reason SilhouetteMatch machine tending software module detects the position and orientation of relatively flat objects that are positioned on a plane, by matching the current scene to a previously taught template. Increased usability enables users to generate templates through the web interface by uploading a DXF-file of the object. • Detection of shallow objects, calculation of their 3D pose • Automatic and flexible detection of the base plane • Works with static and robot-mounted sensors • On-board data processing: No need for external hardware Typical applications include machine tending or emptying load carriers of several (separated) layers of objects. With the latest extension, SilhouetteMatch can now also be used for destacking e.g. sheets of metal. In this case, the object closest to the camera is detected as relevant plane and no base plane calibration is required.

The rc_reason suite of software modules is an advanced AppliedAI solution designed for robotic applications: Users select the plug-and-produce software module that best meets their individual needs, and with a few mouse clicks, our 3D stereo products provide task-relevant information such as grasp points. A wide range of applications can be realized, from machine tending and order picking to (de-)palletizing.
