LoRaWAN in automation - AMC solutions with iFactoryX for entry-level, on-premise and cloud
Wireless data transmission over long distances is becoming increasingly important in automation and measurement technology, as the installation and construction of infrastructure are becoming increasingly expensive. This is where LoRaWAN, a wireless network protocol developed for wireless data transmission over long distances and with low energy consumption, comes into play. It belongs to the category of Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technologies and is particularly suitable for the Internet of Things (IoT). Before implementing LoRaWAN-based automation solutions, there is often a need for clarification regarding possible transmission distances and the associated questions of data throughput and transmission reliability. AMC offers to record, investigate, and document transmission and reception conditions at customers' sites to more accurately assess the influence of industrial or urban infrastructure or even natural conditions and to make informed decisions about future projects. AMC provides all the technology for such wireless surveys, and the acquired data and information are delivered in a results report. Based on these results, recommendations can then be made for the selection and installation of gateways and end nodes. AMC can also optionally offer a detailed requirements analysis, the development of concept proposals, and proof-of-concept (PoC) studies based on such an investigation.

Reliable panel PCs with touchscreens for industrial use
With the UNO-100 and UNO-300 series, AMC presents a comprehensive portfolio of powerful edge controllers for industrial automation, real-time monitoring, data management, and measurement data acquisition. These systems combine scalable computing power with maximum flexibility and are specially designed for edge computing applications in smart factories. Thanks to local data processing, they reduce latency, increase efficiency, and enable faster analysis at the edge. In this way, they support the development of modern IIoT infrastructures and the integration of OT and IT. Robustness & security: The controllers comply with IEC61010-1 standards, are designed for -20 °C to +60 °C, and enable maintenance-free upgrades without downtime – ideal for 24/7 operation in harsh industrial environments. Expandability & modularity: The series supports mPCIe and PCI(e) slots (UNO-348) for additional I/O or communication modules. - UNO-137: uses iDoor technology for flexible expansion with fieldbuses, wireless modules, or I/O interfaces. - UNO-127: compact edge controller for data gateways between OT and IT. Remote management: Models such as the UNO-148 and UNO-348 feature iBMC out-of-band management, which enables remote maintenance and recovery after system crashes. The WISE-DeviceOn software platform allows systems to be monitored and managed centrally—without on-site intervention. Real-time capability: The UNO-148 supports Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) for time-synchronous communication and virtualization of multiple real-time operating systems—ideal for complex automation tasks.
