Bodenseezentrum Innovation | IoT Sustainability Lab
The Bodenseezentrum Innovation (BZI) is the transfer network of HTWG Konstanz, which strengthens cooperation and innovation in the four-country region around Lake Constance in the spirit of recursive transfer between science and practice. The focus is on cross-border networking on topics related to digital transformation, with the aim of bringing together relevant players, launching transfer projects, and creating synergies. At all about automation, you can find out more about the BZI and IoT solutions from the IoT Sustainability Lab research collaboration at the Future Now! Hub exhibition stand, where it will be showcasing specific sustainable smart IoT services for industry together with the companies SABOY Anlagentechnik and PRiOT AG. The IoT Sustainability Lab is an international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral research collaboration in the Lake Constance region funded by the EU (Interreg VI “Alpenrhein-Bodensee-Hochrhein”) and the Swiss Confederation, which is led by HTWG Konstanz in cooperation with the BZI. Twenty-two partner institutions from science and practice are jointly researching sustainability aspects of IoT systems, developing sustainable IoT solutions, networking with IoT experts, and transferring useful Lab results into practice. Researchers from the Lab will show you at the exhibition stand how you can use product-service system frameworks from Lab research to design smart IoT services for your company that enable early fault detection, reduced downtime, and sustainably optimized plant operation through real-time monitoring of sensor-equipped industrial plants and predictive analytics. The companies SABOY Anlagentechnik and PRiOT AG will present use cases for IoT-optimized predictive maintenance of production and ventilation systems at the exhibition stand and in the Speakers Corner of the Future Now! Hub. SABOY Anlagentechnik specializes in the automated evaluation of machines and systems. Based on technical evaluations, classifications, and diagnoses of parameters, SABOY's evaluation models detect impending system failures and derive maintenance and optimization measures before they become noticeable in operation. This saves time and avoids costly machine malfunctions. In a use case, SABOY will show you on March 10, 2026, at the exhibition stand and in a presentation in the Speakers Corner of the Future Now! Hub how automated fault diagnosis and predictive plant optimization based on flexible and uncomplicated data input (plug-and-play) works and leads to optimal recommendations for action. PRiOT AG is a provider of automated and secure end-to-end IoT solutions – from hardware design to data transmission and processing to reporting. Customized PRiOT solutions cover the areas of filter monitoring, roof monitoring, energy consumption aggregation, photovoltaic systems, Minergie monitoring, and climate monitoring. In a use case, PRiOT will show you on March 11, 2026, at the exhibition stand and in a presentation in the Speakers Corner of Future Now! Hub, how a battery-powered IoT system with LoRaWAN transmission enables real-time monitoring, automatic creation of maintenance and intervention tickets, and demand-based replacement of filters in ventilation systems (at Swisscom).

Cambrian Robotics GmbH
Cambrian is an add-on for collaborative and industrial robots. The AI-based solution gives the robot arm human-level capabilities for various manufacturing tasks such as pick-and-place, bin picking, cable insertion and much more. The hardware of our solution consists of two standard 2D cameras in a protective housing and, depending on the application, can be mounted directly on the robot as an end-of-arm solution or stationary above the workstation. At the heart of Cambrian Vision is AI-based software on a powerful IPC to process the image data. All we need is the CAD data of the parts to be processed and to define the possible pick points. The intelligence of our software is used to generate a 3D image. This enables us to achieve an exceptionally fast recognition speed of less than 170 ms. The system accuracy is at the sub-millimetre level (<1 mm), enabling cycle times of only 2-3 seconds for demanding bin picking tasks. Cambrian Vision excels at reliably recognising transparent, shiny, flexible (cables) or black parts and is completely independent of structured light. Our vision is to give robots Our vision is to give robots abilities on the same level as humans. By using AI-supported robotics for everyday and repetitive tasks, human resources can be redirected to more creative, productive and valuable tasks. Companies can thus conserve resources and save costs by working more efficiently, competitively and sustainably, while improving the quality of their products and the safety of their employees.
