The Bodenseezentrum Innovation (BZI) is the transfer network of HTWG Konstanz, which strengthens cooperation and innovation in the four-country region around Lake Constance in the spirit of recursive transfer between science and practice. The focus is on cross-border networking on topics related to digital transformation, with the aim of bringing together relevant players, launching transfer projects, and creating synergies. Cambrian is an add-on for collaborative and industrial robots. The AI-based solution gives the robot arm human-level capabilities for various manufacturing tasks such as pick-and-place, bin picking, cable insertion and much more. The hardware of our solution consists of two standard 2D cameras in a protective housing and, depending on the application, can be mounted directly on the robot as an end-of-arm solution or stationary above the workstation. At the heart of Cambrian Vision is AI-based software on a powerful IPC to process the image data. All we need is the CAD data of the parts to be processed and to define the possible pick points.
