Unlike conventional SMD connectors that establish contacting through a blade contact and a spring contact, our shielded Zero8 PCB connector has a blade contact and also a spring contact on each pair of connectors (plug or socket). With this reliable connection technology, this connector in 0.8 mm pitch ensures double contacting on a single pin and establishes high redundancy and thus maximum contact reliability. As a result, the gender-neutral contact system ensures safe, robust and gas-tight contacting despite external influences such as shocks, vibrations, thermal cycles and noxious gas. With a very high tolerance compensation of 0.4 mm when mated, the gender-neutral contact system of the Zero8 connector thus has a floating functionality and makes the connector particularly scalable.
The geometry of the insulating housing is also designed in such a way that the contacts are submerged in the insulating body and are thus protected in such a way that damage to the contacts becomes virtually impossible. In addition, the geometry reliably prevents the contacts from being mated incorrectly.
