Why machined contacts are key in industrial automation
Mass produced, stamped and formed contacts have made the D-sub a cost-effective solution, but their fragility makes them unsuitable for carrying high currents in manufacturing.
Introducing MH Connectors’ machined D-Sub and Combo D-Sub range – transforming D-Subs into high performance solutions for demanding applications. Due to their solid construction, machined contacts provide a greater mass and cross-sectional area, increasing the current carrying capability and reducing the temperature rise associated with high currents. The solid construction also provides greater reliability for applications needing high mating cycles.
The MH Combo D-Sub connector is highly capable. It is supplied fully assembled with insulator resistance of 5 GΩ and power contacts rated for 20A or 40A as well as 5A signal contacts.
