The AXIS-SA50 floating compensation unit is designed for positional deviation compensation in assembly and joining processes in mechanical engineering.
It is used wherever components must be joined with precision despite manufacturing tolerances – for example in contacting or press-fit applications.
The integrated spring-loaded centering mechanism ensures automatic, stress-free alignment of components. This effectively compensates for misalignments and prevents mechanical jamming – even during repeated cycles in automated operation.
The module compensates for a radial offset in the XY-direction of ± 1 mm as well as a rotational misalignment of ± 3°, while reliably transmitting high axial forces in the Z-direction – both under tensile and compressive loads. It is ideal for gripper assemblies, joining units, and applications with limited installation space due to its compact size of Ø 50 mm × 36 mm.
Thanks to its compliant design, the AXIS-SA50 floating compensation unit reduces mechanical load peaks and protects adjacent assemblies such as robot flanges or adapter elements from premature wear. It improves centering during joining, minimizes assembly stress, and ensures long-term process reliability.
