Peltier modules have a simple sandwich-like structure. A series of silicon rods are mounted between two ceramic plates, which are energised as required for heating or cooling.
However, as with anything that seems simple at first, the appeal and advantage lie in the precise design, positioning and control of this technology. Only by mastering these aspects can efficiencies of up to 94% be achieved with minimised power consumption and a reduced number of modules.
